Camp Pegasus offers activities designed to facilitate the development of the WHOLE CHILD. We weave together UNIQUE creative arts social skills therapy groups with traditional camp activities. FUN is always the target!
In competitive sports or games, we de-emphasize winning, losing, and arguing over rules. Campers require NO prior talent, nor fine/gross motor ability to enjoy camp. We help campers focus on the most important social concepts of sportsmanship, cooperation, and maintaining friendships.
We offer a CHOICE elective period at the end of every day during which your child may choose to deeply explore one activity of interest. Campers sign up for their CHOICE in one week blocks, and attend it five days per week.
CHOICE activities may include:
- PLAYROOM Indoor free play with coaching
- OPEN ART STUDIO
- OPEN MUSIC STUDIO Garage Band, song writing, jamming
- OUTDOOR SPORTS
- THERAPY DOGS
- COMPUTER PLAY
- ACTING ANTICS Improv and comedy
Camp Pegasus partners with community groups to enrich our campers' experience.
A theater organization dedicated to encouraging social skills and communication growth. Using improv and comedy fun, campers invent situations to practice social cues, spontaneity, flexibility and social interactions.
The Franklin Institute
Camp Pegasus was lucky enough to have been chosen as the recipient of the Franklin Institute's 2016 Barbara Brodsky ACCESS program. This initiative brings unique, sensory friendly traveling science shows to us.
Nellie's Schoolhouse connects children with autism, depression and anxiety to well trained and well behaved dogs. Their screened volunteers and their dogs visit Camp Pegasus so our campers can gain independence and self-confidence.
